Taj Taj Mahal Tower, Mumbai

Taj Mahal Tower

Designed by American architect Melton Bekker, this luxury hotel opened its door to guests in 1973, instantly carving an identity into the cityscape.  Bekker incorporated Indian design elements like Tanjore pillars from the south and arched balconies from 14th century imperial Rajasthan into the distinctive tower which is crowned with a jagged diadem. Four decades since, our hotel in Colaba continues to dazzle patrons with luxurious suites, iconic restaurants and sublime views of the city’s famed seafront. As a guest at the Taj Mahal Tower, you’re privy to world-class sophistication and impeccable service underscored by Mumbai’s warmth and vigour. Our location in the heritage district of Colaba keeps you at the city’s nerve centre of art, culture and glamour. Should you choose to venture further, our concierge desk curates signature experiences that let you unravel the megalopolis’s multifaceted layers. Whether relaxing in your well-appointed suite, luxuriating at the spa or exploring Mumbai’s many alternative lives by the docks, the Taj hospitality assures you have a splendid time.

A very good hotel but hardly great.
Repetitive staff (10 people to do something that is not handled well), problems with requests being fulfilled, service sometimes excellent and at other times weak. Staff who never get back in touch with you -- they pretend to care but they don't. That is very Taj.....a fake concern. A love hate relationship with the place. Some staff excellent -- particularly in the coffee shop -- but the desk staff weak. No communication between staff. Hot water issues in my room. Some staff denied it until engineer confirmed. Why the denial? It was very unsavory. Sometimes, again, I love the place. Other times hardly. It would be nice if the piano player returns. He was never there in days. And nice to receive a chocolate or piece of fruit in the room after many days of stay. The nice gestures are sorely lacking. Too many people there who seem to do nothing. The room, however, was very clean. The design, however, is stark and not warm or comfortable. Aesthetically, I don't care for the rooms. The concierge service is generally good. Overall, the operation of the hotel is iffy. Again, a good hotel but hardly a great one when considering it on an international level.

Pleasant stay in an incredible hotel with caring personnel
The place is magnificent and the personnel is very professional. We valued the kindness and proactivity of the security agents, reception and room keepers especially Ramesh.
