A Level of Service I have not seen anywhere else
Hi Mr. Prabath, I am writing to compliment you on the hospitality of your staff at the Taj Bangalore, where I stayed on the night of 22 November 2019. I was greeted at the airport by a young lady, I am sorry I didn’t get her name, she was from Chennai, was studying hotel management in Maharashtra, and was interning with the Taj Bangalore for a year. She did a terrific job and made the formalities simple and easy. She took me from the airport all the way to my room, which was a level of service I have not seen by any hotel ever. Upon check out at 9:51 am the following day, I realized with horror that my flight to Delhi had a 1 pm ARRIVAL, not a 1 pm DEPARTURE. I had missed my departure time (10:00 am) by a mile. Your front desk clerk, I am sorry I didn’t get his name (but his “By” number was 14… in your computer system), sprang right into action. He called Indigo, who confirmed there was nothing they could do for me. Then he called Manju M., your airport executive. Manju got me a seat on the next flight to Delhi, which happened to be Air Asia. He negotiated a reduced price, and walked me through the purchase of the ticket, baggage check-in, and right up to the security aisle. I was simply in a fog that morning, due to a conference call which lasted until midnight of the 22nd. I would not have made the flight to Delhi without Manju, and I arrived only an hour later than planned. That timely arrival in Delhi enabled me to get some sleep before the 30 hour trip back to my home in the US. Again, the hospitality provided by Manju and your front desk clerk was a level of service I have not seen by any hotel ever. I love the Taj West End. But, frankly, I have had a couple of bad experiences there, despite spending at least a lakh or for every stay (where I stay so do my employees). And so I resolved to stay only at Marriott properties in the future. But since I needed an airport hotel the night of 22 November I had to stay at the Taj Bangalore. Your staff not only redeemed the Taj name, they showed me a level of service I didn’t think possible by any hotel anywhere. Thank you. Best, Tom
