taj Rambagh Palace

Rambagh Palace

Originally built in 1835, Rambagh Palace has stepped gracefully through many royal transitions—from the home of the queen’s favourite handmaiden, to royal guesthouse and hunting lodge, and later as the residence of the Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II and his queen, Maharani Gayatri Devi. Today, this jewel in the Taj’s crown offers 78 stunningly restored grand luxury rooms and suites which were the chambers of the former Maharaja. The palace retains its elaborate splendour, extravagantly decorated with hand-carved marble ‘jalis’ or latticework, sandstone balustrades, cupolas and ‘chattris’ or cenotaphs, and elaborate Mughal Gardens. Within this most glorious of palaces showcasing the best of Rajasthan’s royal heritage, you also experience the best fine-dining restaurants in Jaipur. Enjoy a royal Indian feast at Suvarna Mahal, the former palace ballroom built in the 18th-century French style with huge crystal chandeliers. For multi-cuisine options, head to Rajput Room, our all-day-dining restaurant, or Verandah Café. Find Mediterranean delights at the lounge bar, Steam, or unwind in the sophisticated charm of the Polo Bar, with the trophies and memorabilia of the Jaipur polo team on display. Take your royal retreat a notch further by indulging in signature treatments at the Jiva Grande Spa, where we envelop you in ancient Indian wellness therapies. Harmonise your mind and body with yoga and meditation. With the exquisite palace offering a scenic backdrop, our large selection of indoor and outdoor venues along with the Sawai Man Singh Function Centre are ideal for royal destination weddings and business events in Jaipur. Complemented by the craft of our master chefs and impeccable service, the luxury palace offers the perfect package for once-in-a-lifetime celebrations. Over the years, it has played gracious host to several illustrious guests, such as Lord Louis Mountbatten, Prince Charles and Jacqueline Kennedy. We invite you to experience, like they have, the finest traditions of Rajput hospitality. Come, hear the stories of ‘The Jewel of Jaipur’.

Our Memorable Sojourn at the Rambagh Jaipur.
What can I say in words that we felt so strongly about our stay in your wonderful hotel? These are intangibles, not easily expressed, but I shall try. Our arrival was wonderfully royal, rose petals, a royal chhatri and fragrant Jasmine flowers, utterly decadent. Check in was a breeze, handled gracefully by the front desk. I loved that bit, made me feel like a welcome guest. The room was fabulous, both were. I love the new decor, the very English sofa & chairs, the four poster beds, the elegant & super chic choice of upholstery everywhere. Pure luxury. Very, very tasteful. The housekeeping by the way was terribly good, much beyond expectations. Loved the New line by Forest essentials, and it was fun to take them all home. The basin with foot salts was a welcome treat at the end of a long shopping day,& our tired feet were so glad of that thoughtful touch. Thank you! The beds, omg, so good, so comfortable. Superb . Now, to food. Excellent, exceptional. The breakfast buffet was an impressive array of nuts, warm foods, cereals, breads etc. I'm a breakfast person and the excellent goat cheese & spinach omlette were just too good. The bacon was perfect too. A breakfast easily comparable to any fine uppity hotel in Europe. Of course, the impeccable service & warm attitude of everyone in the restaurant made even the food pale in comparison. From the F& B manager to Anand, to Chef to the others who served us so lovingly, a big thank you, a big hug. Money can't buy attitude & warmth, yours was for free. That litchi drink, how the kids loved it! Loved the very Cheerful country style French type China & the Damask napkins. The swimming area was manned by your very capable & attentive staff as well, took good care of my kids. Hats off to them. Also to the many behind the scenes men & women who make sure that a great hotel runs like a well oiled ship. Mr General Manager, a special thanks for your warm & gracious letter in our rooms. Thanks very much indeed. You run a very fine hotel and it was our pleasure to experience Indian Hospitality at it's finest. I could go on & on, but really, words would not be able to express my appreciation of our wonderful stay. I wish it wasn't so pricey, I would come every few months ! Sigh ! With warm regards to everyone at Rambagh Seema M.
